There is information on each individual aircraft, as well as on all airline companies and aviation organisations. This does of course include Aeroflot, but also for example the air assets of the GULAG labour camp organisation. Many facts are revealed here for the first time.
The Albatros L 76, Avia Ba 122, Caudron Goeland, Consolidated B-24 Liberator, Douglas O-38F, Focke-Wulf Condor, Hawker Audax, Messerschmitt Bf 108 Taifun, and PZL-44 Wicher are among the aircraft types used in Soviet civil aviation and full production lists are presented for such types as the Kalinin K-5, Putilov Stal’-2 and Stal’-3, Tupolev ANT-9 and ANT-35, and Yakovlev AIR-6.
In addition there is much information on the most important transport types used during the war: the Douglas C-47 and the licence-built PS-84 (Li-2), and the Junkers Ju 52/3m, as well as on thousands of Polikarpov U-2 (Po-2) and R-5 variants.
The facts presented in the book are unique and have been obtained through laborious research of many years duration in Russian archives. It is the first time that the complete Soviet civil aircraft register - as a major historical find - is revealed. The register pages of the book contain some 13,000 entries and give a unique insight into Soviet civil aviation.
This book contains numerous unique photos, including many never published before, tables, lists and maps.
